Redskins face tampering charges.

In what shouldn’t come as any surprise, the NFL has opened an investigation into possible tampering in the Washington Redskins acquisition of DE Albert Haynesworth. The Titans asked the league to open an inquiry into the charges, claiming GM Vinny Cerrato contacted Hayneworth’s agent before the start of the free-agency period on February 27.

The finger has oft been pointed at the Washington franchise for such violations, although the ‘Skins have never been found guilty. This kind of thing is actually quite prevalent in the NFL, but the challenge lies in proving wrongdoing. The Vikings were accused by the Packers of tampering with a certain old ass quarterback, but the investigation by the league found no evidence. The investigation will most likely yield little to no information besides finger pointing, but if wrongdoing is proven the Redskins will lose a pick in next years draft. Not that they have any left.
