This is odd, really odd, but I am TOTALLY in support of William and Mary changing their mascot to the aspargus stalks because that would be AWESOME!
The NCAA ruled that the schools logo was offensive in 2006 (while the court system doesn’t find the Redskins logo one bit offensive) and the school has received over 400 nominations for the change.
One of them happens to be the aspargus stalk, which would help because apparently “the asparagus stalk supporter notes that if served with cheese, the vegetable represents the school colors.” Touche.
The school’s athletic teams will still be known as The Tribe, but the logo has to change. We here at The Nine Commandments hope other schools around the country decide to choose just as cool logos and mascots. Here are some of our suggestions:
-MIT Calculators
-Iowa Gay-Rednecks
-Florida State Felons (or Florida Felons. We don’t care)
-USC NCAA By-law violators
-Texas We-Think-We’re-Better-Than-Everyone-Else-But-In-Reality-We-Bring-Everyone-Else-Down-To-Our-Level’s
-BYU Can-We-Talk-To-You-About-The-Book-Of Mormon-For-A-Second
-Duke Douchebags
-South Carolina The-REAL-USC
